Network Cable Tester
When we are making the network cable, when we cannot confirm whether it is in good condition, we can use the network cable tester to test it;
The test consists of the main tester and the remote tester. The remote tester can be removed and used at the other end of the network cable;
The general network cable tester has two interfaces: RJ45 and RJ11; RJ45 is our commonly used network cable interface, and RJ11 is generally the interface of the telephone network; the two interfaces of the remote tester are at both ends;
Find a network cable that needs to be tested or a network line that needs to be tested;
Insert one end of the network cable into the RJ45 port of the main tester, and turn on the power. You can see that the power indicator is on;
Insert the other end of the network cable into the RJ45 interface of the remote tester, and you can see that the indicator lights of the main/remote tester light up in sequence (1-8), indicating that the network cable is good and unobstructed;
If the line is blocked, the corresponding indicator light will not light up;
When less than 2 network cables are connected, the indicator lights are not on;
If the line sequence is out of order, for example, the 2.3 line is out of sequence, then the indicator light of the main tester is 12345678, and the remote tester is 13245678.
Note: Do not test live lines.
Wire break test phenomenon
When 1 to 6 wires are disconnected, the indicator lights of the corresponding wire number of the main tester and the remote test end are not on, and the other lights can still flash one by one.
When 7 or 8 wires are disconnected, the indicator lights of the main tester and the remote test end are all off.
Wire short circuit test phenomenon
When two wires are short-circuited, the indicator lights of the main tester will still flash one by one in the order from 1 to 8, while the indicator lights corresponding to the two short-circuit wires at the remote test end will be lit at the same time, and the other indicator lights will be lit at the same time. Still flashing one by one in the normal order.
When three or more wires are short-circuited, the indicator lights of the main tester are still flashing sequentially from 1 to 8, while the indicators corresponding to all the short-circuit wires at the remote test end are off.
